In the installation TOPOLOGY I, I investigate the conditions to create a landscape and share a meeting point. Through words, the image of a visited and simultaneously invisible place is built: the postcard image – a travel view that made someone, somewhere, remember a loved one.
In a dark room, embroidered letters on suspended fabrics create, from the shadow projected by the lighting, a landscape on the floor. I fabulate a ‘here’ that is made of today and also of 30 years ago. The landscapes aloft from the homonimous series are forged from the places visited by my great-uncle, Cesar Papa, chosen by him as images for his postcard correspondences. I invite those who enter the dimness to find an imagined place, to see together and share with me a possible coordinate for an encounter.
