Papa’s research and poetics focus on archives—public or private, especially on notions of displacement between travel and memory, with productions that bring together film, photography, installation, and actions.

 

During her master’s degree, she developed research that understands travel as a method of producing. encounters—between herself and her great-uncle and artist, César Papa. 30 years later, using a collection of 800 documents, Laura retraced the life and travel routes of her great-uncle, whom she never met, in search of archives, correspondence, and landscapes.

For 15 years, she has been managing projects, programs and designing graphic narratives in partnership with cultural institutions such as: Alliance Française of Brasilia, CCBB Brasilia, International Organization of La Francophonie, Embassy of Spain, SESC, and EUNIC – European Union National Institutes for Culture.
