an attempt to share a sky
2022
installation
fabric prints
100x150cm each
In this installation, I explore the conditions for sharing a point of view. The same landscape is photographed twice: the first time, in 1986, by my great-uncle and artist—whom I never met—César Papa; the second time, by me, 30 years later. The fabrics suspended from the ceiling, spaced 30 cm apart, move in response to the viewer’s breath and movement. When viewed from a distance, the landscapes sometimes appear to merge through the transparency of the fabrics, and at other times seem to disappear due to the play of light in the gallery.
